Math Overview (Slide Show Version)

Make Connections in Real Life

  • Recognize and apply mathematics in contexts outside of mathematics

NCTM Standards 2000

Math is essential to our daily lives. We use math in many of our daily activities as well as in our careers. For example, we use math when paying for lunch, buying and selling a car, and making decisions about health care and insurance. Learning math is a highly practical and important part of the curriculum.
